Track 2: Innovation 

The Administration is emphasizing the need for greater innovation from both industry and government to fuel job creation and economic vitality.  It is a simple term but how do you create the environment and culture to foster innovative thinking?  This track focuses on how innovations are started and nurtured, how the best ones are implemented, and how government and industry collaborate by looking at examples from both public and private sectors.  In all, the track lays out the path to “ideation” from the greatest nation in the world.

Proud of Their Accomplishments: Get first hand knowledge of examples of innovative projects and the results obtained through these projects.  How did the idea get initiated and developed? How was the project measured and what are the results? This panel will discuss their experiences, insights, and provide lessons learned and advice on “if they had to do it all over again”.

How will it be measured?  This panel will provide real world examples of successful joint collaboration, and lessons learned from the implementation.

Embracing a Culture of Innovation: This panel will discuss how to implement strategies to promote innovation, include new ways of acquiring services and ways to reach out across generational and cultural barriers. What are perceived as real obstacles to innovation in “large” organizations? How are these obstacles successfully overcome? Is there a definite payoff for providing an innovative environment?  How will it be sustained?
