IT Exchange Program
A new professional development opportunity provided for in the E-Government Act of 2002, ITEP allows exceptional performers from the federal and private IT sectors to participate in a 3+ month detail in the other sector. The purpose is to develop, supplement, and modernize IT skills while improving overall competencies in the Federal IT workforce.
Detail opportunities available for government members to spend time in industry are posted below. Participating federal agencies offering details to industry are listed at www.USAJobs.gov/itep.asp. Note that other details may be set up directly between the individual, the company, and the federal agency using the ITEP regulations - these sites just attempt to facilitate the matching of opportunities with talent. Federal IT employees interested in pursuing industry details shown here should contact their manager or human resources representative to determine if this is an opportunity available to them. If so, the individual should contact the company to apply for the position. If selected, the individual, the company, and the agency will need to work together to develop an agreement in accordance with the ITEP regulations and their organizations' legal and ethical requirements.
