ACT-IAC PACIFIC: MISSION AND PRINCIPLES 

ACT-IAC Pacific is a non-profit, public-private partnership established to improve Federal, state and local governments in the Pacific Region through the effective and innovative use of information technology.  ACT-IAC Pacific provides an objective, ethical and vendor-neutral forum where government and industry executives can communicate and collaborate on IT issues of interest to government.

ACT-IAC Pacific is part of the American Council for Technology-Industry Advisory Council, a Washington, DC-based educational organization that has been described as “a model of how government and industry can work together.”   Government and industry executives interested in using IT to improve government are encouraged to join ACT-IAC, but participation in the ACT-IAC Pacific Chapter is open to any interested individual.

OPERATING PRINCIPLES: ACT-IAC Pacific operates in accordance with the following principles:

• Government issues drive the agenda
• Activities must be objective, ethical and vendor-neutral
• No government funding
• Lobbying and business development are prohibited

ACT-IAC Pacific is governed by a Leadership Committee composed of government and industry executives.

Getting involved in ACT-IAC Pacific

Participation in ACT-IAC Pacific is open to any government or industry employee who is interested in improving government through information technology.  The benefits of participating in ACT-IAC Pacific include:
