Education & Professional Development

 Partners Program

The IAC IT Partners Program is an executive development program for "rising stars" in government and industry with high potential for future advancement. The program has graduated its twelfth class at the Executive Leadership Conference (ELC) in October 2008. The overall goal of the program is to prepare future government and industry information technology leaders for the roles they will fill at the Senior Executive Service and company officer level. Program participants are first nominated, through this application process, by their respective company or agency sponsors, then each pass the scrutiny of a panel of senior executives from government and industry.

Voyagers Program

The ACT-IAC Voyagers Program is a leadership development program for "rising stars" in government and industry with high potential for future advancement. This will be the fifth class for this leadership development program and will build on its past success and that of the ACT-IAC IT Partners Program.  The objective of the program is to prepare mid-level managers for their future roles in industry and government. Each prospective program participant must be nominated by his or her respective company or agency sponsor, complete this application, and be selected for the program by a panel of senior executives from government and industry.

ACT-IAC Fellows Program

The ACT-IAC Fellows Program is an alumni association for the successful graduates of the Partner and Voyager programs.  The Partner and Voyager programs identify promising executives and future leaders from both federal and private organizations.  These programs foster career growth through the mentoring and developing of the participants as a significant part of their overall continual education.

Awards Programs

Each year ACT-IAC recognizes outstanding government programs that demonstrate exceptional management and use of IT resources to serve the public.  The Excellence.Gov Awards program recognizes excellence in Federal government programs.  The Intergovernmental Solutions Awards program recognizes excellence in intergovernmental programs and exceptional state and local programs.

Individual Recognition

ACT-IAC has a number of programs to recognize individual contributions to the government IT community.  The Janice K. Mendenhall Spirit of Leadership Award is given annually to a Federal employee who has demonstrated a continuing commitment to the best in public service.  The John J. Franke Award is given to a government or industry executive who has made significant contributions to government over a long period of time.  There are also a number of awards given to individuals who have contributed to the accomplishment of ACT-IAC's mission.
