Service Excellence Award - Challenge Coin

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the American Council for Technology and the 20th anniversary of the Industry Advisory Council the leadership created a commemorative coin. This coin will not only symbolize ACT-IAC’s excellence in the IT community, it will also identify the key people who assisted in that excellence.

The honor of being a coin holder shall come to those that meet one of the following criteria:

  •  One who is an exceptional “unsung hero” having devoted their time, intelligence, and energies to the better good of ACT-IAC. (i.e. created a white paper, led a new committee, been actively involved in several areas of ACT-IAC)
  • One who is an outstanding leader in the IT public and private community who has motivated and/or escalated ACT-IAC in one way or another
  • One who has led their colleagues through the planning of a major ACT or IAC event

ACT-IAC leadership realizes the dedication and hard work it takes to become a coin holder. For this reason, the honor will be recognized through acknowledgement in the ACT-IAC Newsletter as well as at a public ACT-IAC forum. In addition, a coin holder appreciation reception will be held annually.  In recognition of uniquely exceptional contribution, anyone accumulating 5 coins will also receive an invitation to the annual thank you reception in the year the 5th coin is awarded; an individual accumulating 10 coins will be awarded with an ELC slot.

ACT-IAC leaders designating the award are responsible for tracking the parties to whom the coins are presented.  Each leader must submit the recipient’s name, company, and reason for receiving the award (in 25 words or less) to Service Excellence Award.  The coin holders will then be recognized through the Newsletter and at an upcoming membership meeting.
