How can I attend ELC if I cannot secure a company slot?
Individuals may secure a slot (at the $995 fee) for themselves by recruiting three first time government attendees that reference them on their registration forms. Otherwise, there are no opportunities for individuals to register for the conference.
What if someone wants to pay a higher dues level to secure additional slots?
While this is not prohibited, it is not encouraged. IAC would prefer that companies sponsor or participate in the government recruitment incentive program to secure additional slots.
What if a company renews or joins after April 1st and wants their guaranteed ELC slots?
Unfortunately companies that renew or join after April 1st will not receive their ELC 2009 membership slots.
Can a company who renews or joins after April 1st still sponsor ELC and attend the conference using sponsorship slots?
If sponsorship opportunities are still available, companies who renew or join after April 1st may purchase sponsorships and use those slots to attend the conference.
If my company registers me for ELC but I change companies prior to the start of the conference can I keep my ELC slot?
ELC slots belong to the IAC member company. Individuals who are registered for ELC but change companies during the ELC registration period will lose their ELC slot as their registration will be retained by the member company. To attend ELC, their new employer will need to provide them with a registration slot.
Is there a wait list for ELC 2009?
Yes. Each member company will have one waitlist slot in 2009. The waitlist members will be notified of their randomly assigned number which determines their place on the list. Individuals will be taken off the waitlist on a space available basis after each of the two phases of registration. After the second round of waitlist attendees have been taken, the waitlist will be dissolved and no other attendees will be registered.
How big is the conference this year?
We will have a maximum of 900 attendees at ELC 2009 with a goal of 250 government attendees.
What is the dress policy?
ELC’s dress code is business attire except at sporting events.
Why am I at a hotel down the street?
Colonial Williamsburg has a campus environment and thus accommodations are not only varied but unique as well. Attendees will be housed at 4 different historic locations and will be connected via shuttle to the conference center. Registrants will have the opportunity to select the accommodation which best meets their needs after they register for the conference.
What is the press policy?
Refer to the press policy posted on the ELC website. The plenary sessions are on the record. The workshops are not for attribution.
Can my spouse attend ELC?
There is no spouse registration for ELC 2009.
I am a plenary session speaker. Do I need to register?
Plenary speakers are asked to register for ELC, but are not required to pay a registration fee and do not count toward their company slot allocation (lodging and transportation is arranged on a case by case basis with the ACT-IAC office).
I am an industry track speaker. Do I need to register?
Industry track speakers must register for ELC but do not count against their company slots and do not need to pay the $995 fee if they are only attending the session at which they are speaking. If an industry speaker wishes to stay for more than their session, they must pay the $995 fee and use a company slot. Industry speakers are responsible for their lodging and transportation.
I am a government track speaker. Do I need to register?
Government track speakers must register for ELC but do not need to pay the $795 fee if they are only attending the conference on the day they are speaking. We encourage government speakers to stay for the entire conference. In order to comply with government ethics guidelines, if a government speaker wishes to stay for more than the day of their session, we would ask that they pay a partial conference fee of $395. Government speakers are responsible for their lodging and transportation.
Do IT Partners count against company slots?
IT Partners and Chairs do not count against company slots (fees and accommodations are covered by program tuition).
Do IT Voyagers count against company slots?
Yes. Their tuition does not cover their attendance at ELC.
Does the IAC Executive Committee count against company slots?
IAC Executive Committee members do not count against company slots, but they are responsible for conference fees and accommodations.
