2012 MOC Frequently Asked Questions and Policies
How large is the event this year?
MOC 2012 is a unique opportunity for collaboration between government and industry. To facilitate a collaborative environment, MOC operates with a ratio of no more than 3 industry attendees for every government attendee. Overall coattendance will be around 450. We believe that this small, more intimate size will allow for robust discussion of the issues presented during the sessions and ensure that attendees.
How many slots will my company get for MOC in 2012?
There are 250 Industry slots available (not including sponsorship slots). Each member company will have the opportunity to register up to 3 attendees on a first come first served basis (at the $1095 fee). Additionally, each company may place additional people on a wait list that will be released by lottery on May 18, 2012 on a space is available basis.
How can I attend MOC if I cannot secure one of my company slots?
Individuals may secure an additional slot for themselves, to be redeemed at the $1095 fee, by recruiting two first time government attendees that reference them on their registration forms. For more information contact Angela Owens at 703-208-4800.
Is there a wait list for MOC 2012?
Yes. After a company’s 3 slots have already been taken, each member company will have the opportunity to add other attendees to a waitlist. A lottery will be run if registration is not full by May 25, 2012 and individuals will be taken off the waitlist on a space available basis. Once registration is full, the waitlist will be dissolved and no other attendees will be registered.
What is the dress policy?
The MOC dress code is business casual.
How can I make a hotel reservation?
Rooms at Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay,Cambridge, Maryland may be reserved through their online reservation system on a first come, first served basis. The group hotel registration link will be sent in your confirmation email after completing your registration. Reservations will not be taken over the phone by the Hyatt.

Can my spouse attend MOC?
Due to space and availability constraints there is no spouse registration for MOC 2012.
Can I share my badge with someone else?
We do not allow badge sharing or the practice of multiple attendees sharing a single registration. We encourage each attendee to stay for the entire event.
I am a plenary session speaker. Do I need to register?
Plenary speakers are asked to register for MOC, but are not required to pay a registration fee and do not count toward their company slot allocation. Per ACT policy, plenary speakers are responsible for their lodging and transportation. Any reimbursement requests must be approved In advance by the ACT staff.
I am an industry workshop speaker. Do I need to register?
Industry workshop speakers must register for MOC but do not count against their company slots and do not need to pay the $1095 fee if they are only attending the session at which they are speaking. If an industry speaker wishes to stay for more than their session, they must pay a $495 fee and use a company slot. Per ACT policy, industry speakers are responsible for their lodging and transportation. Any reimbursement requests must be approved by the ACT staff in advance.
I am a government workshop speaker. Do I need to register?
Government workshop speakers must register for MOC but do not need to pay the $745 fee if they are only attending the event on the day they are speaking. We encourage government speakers to stay for the entire event. In order to comply with government ethics guidelines, if a government speaker wishes to stay for more than the day of their session, they must pay a partial fee of $295. Per ACT policy, government speakers are responsible for their lodging and transportation. Any reimbursement requests must be approved in advance by the ACT staff.
I am an ACT-IAC Voyager. Do I need to register?
Voyager tuition includes the event fee and 2 nights hotel accommodations. Voyagers do not count against their company slots. Voyager slots are non transferable.
MOC Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made before April 27, 2012 are eligible for a refund. All cancellation requests received will be subject to a $75 processing fee. All Registration fees are non-refundable after April 27, 2011. No shows will be charged the full registration fee. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to MOCReg@actgov.org; request for cancellations will not be accepted via telephone.
MOC Substitution Policy
Replacements and registration changes will not accepted after Friday, May 18, 2012.
