Course Description: Leadership is about influence and not control.  Everyone we interact with has the ability to make their own decisions regarding whether or not to work with us, be led by us, or be influenced by us.  Many of the greatest leaders in history -- Gandhi, Martin Luther King -- had very little control over their followers, nor did they seek control.  Rather, they worked very hard to influence their followers in positive ways and as a consequence had significant impact.  This workshop will provide practical tools and models to expand your influence in both your professional and personal life, along with the opportunity to practice those tools in a safe constructive environment.

What You Will Learn:  You will learn to use your influence up, down, and across the organization.  The key to influence is a willingness to be influenced.  As such, you’ll learn communications models for listening and inquiring into others perspectives that will lead them to be open to your ideas and insights.  You’ll learn a model for negotiating agreement on contentious issues that ensures an equitable agreement on moving forward.  Further, you’ll learn the four keys to influence and motivation that will enable you to tap into the full capability of those who work for you.

Why You Should Attend:  Your ideas and perspectives matter.  After attending this session you’ll be more confident your ability to influence others and working together create lasting solutions to problems.  You’ll be able to apply your influence in appropriate and meaningful ways.

Format: 4 hour seminar session. This is followed in 6 weeks with a 2 hour on-line group coaching
