On June 6, 2012, the U.S. General Services Administration will partner with The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) to host a collaborative symposium dedicated to Cloud Computing at the Remington Arms Room in Building 41 at the Denver Federal Center.

 

This event will explore cloud computing as a pay-per-use or subscription model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider information. Using the cloud is greener, more efficient, and enables agencies to better fulfill their missions. Cloud computing experts from government and industry will provide insight into this growing trend through presentations and panel discussions, covering:

- Deploying a Cloud Strategy – Microsoft

- How to acquire Cloud Solutions – General Services Administration

- Exploring Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) –State of Colorado, GSA, VMWare, and other vendors

- The Ins & Outs of Email as a Service and other SaaS initiatives – GSA, other Federal agencies and 

  vendors.
