Acquisition Excellence 2013 will be a one-day education and training event to explore how agencies can progress to a more agile acquisition environment with innovative solutions in a cost cutting era. This year’s tracks will focus on Agile Engagement in Acquisition and Workforce Innovation and Empowerment.
Acquisition Excellence 2013 is sponsored by both GSA and ACT-IAC as a training and education event for the government IT community. The AE 2012 drew over 600 attendees. Kathleen Turco will be the government chair and former IAC Chair Jim Beaupre (JB Federal Consulting) will be the industry chair. The Office of Federal Procurement Policy will participate and is planning on presenting the 2013 Chief Acquisition Officer Council Awards at AE 2013. GSA and ACT-IAC welcome participation by other Federal agencies involved in the acquisition process.
The collaborative discussions between government, industry and academia include:

· Breaking Through the “No Risk” Approach to Contracting
· Data Analytics for Accelerating Acquisition Planning
· Bridging the Multi-Generational Acquisition Workforce
· Sharing Acquisition Strategies
· Strategic Approaches and Strategic Relationships in Acquisition to support Mission Delivery
· Cross-Agency Buying Collaboration to Leverage Buying Power
Attendance is expected to exceed the 2012 Acquisition Excellence event that drew over 600 people – 55% of whom were government employees. Attendees will receive CEUs for their participation in this training event.
The Government Co-chair of the 2013 Acquisition Excellence event is Kathleen Turco, Associate Administrator for GSA’s Office of Government-wide Policy. The Industry Co-chair is former IAC Chair Jim Beaupre of JB Federal Consulting.
