Management of Change
May 19-21, 2013
Hyatt Chesapeake, Cambridge, MD
The ACT-IAC Management of Change (MOC) theme for 2013 is Partnership, Change, and Action. MOC will focus on how collaboration between government and industry can provide innovative solutions to current and upcoming challenges within the public sector.
This year's tracks will focus on:
The Power of Innovation – Innovation can be through new technologies, improved processes, or new ways of thinking about a business need. Innovation leaders often face challenges in fostering a culture of innovation. How do you get your organization to be supportive of new ways of doing things? How do you get people to move beyond fears or pre-conceived notions of what innovation means? How do you create a safe and encouraging environment for your colleagues to come forward with their ideas? This track will address these challenges, as well as provide first person accounts of innovation success, and the lessons learned by their leaders.
Drivers and Government Priorities – This track will go into detail about the technology and mission goals of the government. In addition, it will provide valuable information about Congressional IT priorities. It will examine Digital Government —open source, open policy and API development. Additionally it will focus on, Information Sharing/NIEM (National Information Exchange Model), National Information Sharing, Security/Regional Information Sharing.
Partnering for Agency Mission Delivery – Agencies by their nature are reticent to switch from custom-developed systems to shared platforms and services, even when it leads to reduced costs and improved support. Even when agencies decide to adopt shared services, there are complex set of funding, financial accounting and cultural hurdles that stand in the way. This track will focus on how are shared services changing the nature of acquisition strategy.
