ACT-IAC Colleagues,
The Networks & Telecommunications (N&T) SIG, in conjunction with the Advanced Mobility Working Group (AMWG), will present a panel on the Challenges of Ubiquitous Wireless Connectivity. Larry Melton, Assistant Commissioner, Office of Facilities Management & Services Program, GSA Public Buildings Service, will serve as moderator of the panel, which will discuss issues with in-building cellular and Wi-Fi in government facilities. The panel will also explore technology and solutions that allow users of smart phones and tablets the ability to connect within government buildings.
Moderator Biography: With an owned and leased portfolio totaling over 360 million square feet, Larry Melton oversees the Offices of Smart & Sustainable Buildings and Tenant Services. His responsibilities include the management and oversight of energy, environment, health and safety, building operations, security, lease administration, child care, renovation projects and reimbursable services. Among his current priorities are the implementation of a Smart Buildings Initiative to improve performance across GSA’s portfolio and preparing GSA for the future of facilities while exceeding the needs of our more than one million tenants.
