ACT-IAC: IMPROVING GOVERNMENT AT ALL LEVELS
ACT-IAC is a non-profit educational organization established to “advance government through collaboration, education and action.” ACT-IAC provides an objective, ethical and vendor-neutral forum where government and industry are working together to improve government through the effective and innovative use of information technologies.
ACT-IAC is committed to improving government at all levels – Federal, state and local. Organizations and individuals who share this commitment outside the Washington, DC region are encouraged to join their government and industry colleagues in ACT-IAC. ACT-IAC chapters in San Diego and Denver provide a local forum for collaboration and communication. Individuals who do not live near a chapter can still participate in many ACT-IAC activities as regional members. Both of these opportunities are described below.
ACT-IAC CHAPTERS: LOCAL COLLABORATION AND EDUCATION
ACT-IAC has active chapters in San Diego and Denver to provide a local forum where government and industry can communicate and collaborate on IT issues affecting government. These chapters are:
ACT-IAC Pacific
The ACT-IAC Pacific Chapter is headquartered in San Diego, CA and provides programs to serve the Pacific Rim Region (Arizona, California, Oregon, Hawaii, Nevada, and Washington). The Chapter is governed by a Steering Committee composed of government and industry executives. Participation in chapter activities is open to both ACT-IAC members and non-members.
ACT-IAC Rocky Mountain
The ACT-IAC Rocky Mountain Chapter is headquartered in Denver, CO and provides programs to serve the Rocky Mountain Region (Colorado, Kansas, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming). The Chapter is governed by a Steering Committee composed of government and industry executives. Participation in chapter activities is open to both ACT-IAC members and non-members.
If there is not an ACT-IAC chapter in your region, but you would like to explore the opportunities to create one, contact April Davis at ACT-IAC (adavis@actgov.org).
REGIONAL MEMBERSHIPS
If there is not a chapter in your area, you can still participate in ACT-IAC as a Regional Member. As an ACT-IAC Regional Member you will have access to up-to-date information on government IT issues – from key policies to white papers on hot topics such as cybersecurity, acquisition and cloud computing. Get the latest presentations from senior government policy officials. Discuss best practices with your colleagues in government and industry. Many ACT-IAC collaborative activities (Shared Interest Groups, special projects, etc.) operate via conference call, webinar and other technologies which make participation accessible to everyone. For further information on how you can get involved, contact April Davis at ACT-IAC.
