Description
Applications that combines data or functionality from two or more external sources to create a new service.  There are many types of mashups including consumer mashups, data mashups (combination of information from multiples sources into a single representation), and business mashups (combination of data and services for collaborative use).

Results
At NIH, mashups were used to combine clinical research data into a map-like format to display demographics and regional trends of clinical results.  Mashups were also used to combine research and archival database sources to define any dependencies of related proteins to specific cancer tissue samples of interest to the researcher.
