MISSION:
The Congressional Working Group (CWG) was formed in 2007 with the mission of educating and informing members of Congress on topics affecting the management of government through its use of information technology. The value of the Working Group is its help to Congress in understanding the critical issues that impact the performance of government and to improve the delivery of services to its citizens and businesses. The CWG operates with the following objectives:
- Serve as a “Trusted Advisor” providing thought leadership and expertise to the Members of Congress and Staff
- Establish IAC as a neutral, non-partisan party providing advice to Congress on government management and technology issues
- Integrate regular interaction with Capitol Hill as part of the work plan of the IAC Executive Team
Activities to Date:
Members of the IAC Executive Committee and the CWG are having a series of ongoing meetings and discussions with key House and Senate members and their staff. The purpose of these meetings is to establish IAC as the first choice for objective advice and education on achieving government mission goals through the innovative application of technology and effective business practices. Meetings to date include:
- Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee
- Senate Subcommittee on Federal Financial Management, Government Information, Federal Services and International Security
- Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee
- Senate Subcommittee on Contracting Oversight
- House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
- House Subcommittee on Government, Management, Organization and Procurement
Additionally, the CWG held one program event on the hill in 2008 on desktop security.
